impactful balance

The automotive and composite materials industries have an important role to play in combating climate change. Saving natural resources and reducing carbon emissions must be a priority. The global automotive industry still accounts for more than 7 % of global emissions, according to

Social and economic sustainability is of equal priority for Meneta. Attracting the right workforce, maintaining our communities and having a healthy economy secures our possibilities to do more good in the world in the future as well.

By 2030

Reaching a 40% CO2e reduction from scope 3 activities.

Net-zero vision by 2039

Carbon-neutral products by 2039

By 2039, we’ll be able to deliver carbon-neutral products.

But we can’t do it on our own. We need help from partners with solutions to our immediate challenges. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you believe you can help us on our journey toward net-zero emissions.

triple bottom line

our focus

At Meneta, we take a triple-bottom-line approach to sustainability. This means that we focus on three key areas: social, environmental, and economic sustainability. our triple bottom-line approach to sustainability is about balancing economic, social, and environmental priorities to create long-term value for our stakeholders. By focusing on these three areas, we believe that we can achieve sustainable growth and contribute to a better world for future generations.

At Meneta, we aim to create value across the triple bottom line. We believe that sustainability is not only a responsibility but also an opportunity to make a positive impact in the world. By measuring our sustainable initiatives through our annual Deloitte-accredited carbon accounting reports, we ensure that we are on track with our goals.

social sustainability

Within social sustainability lies our responsibility for our people as an employer. We believe that creating a good, healthy, and safe work environment, with fair wages, secures greater work satisfaction and is beneficial to both the employee and the employer. Our workforce represents society and is culturally and ethnically diverse. We believe a dynamic workforce is a valuable asset that increases societal equality and growth. For that reason, we’re investing in our people.

A selection of actions made:

  • Thorough safety protocols are established at all our locations.
  • Job satisfaction surveys are conducted frequently.
  • A whistleblower scheme is available to report misconduct.
  • Various sponsorships supporting children and sports activities.

giving back to society

We also prioritize the well-being of the communities in which we operate, and we work to minimize the impact of our operations on those communities. We are actively engaged in local communities across the world and the people in them. We have a long-standing tradition of supporting sports clubs, schools, runs and welfare initiatives in Denmark and India.

To support education, we are working together with educational institutions in Denmark, India, and France on student projects, and we attend and support sustainable education fairs such as the Circular Design Camp at UCL. For charity, we are a proud sponsor of the Red Cross’ Christmas aid and Team Rynkeby’s work against critical illnesses in kids.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact through sustainable manufacturing practices and we are constantly seeking ways to make it even more sustainable and increase efficiency. Our focus areas are suppliers, energy consumption, and waste management.

We are using renewable energy sources to power our facilities in Denmark. 100 % of our energy consumption is covered by renewables, (mainly local wind energy) from Odense Port. We have invested in Vestas wind turbines, which help us to generate electricity and significantly decrease our carbon footprint.

By using wind turbine power, we are able to significantly reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy sources and contribute to a more sustainable future.

waste management

At our locations, we reuse and recycle as much as possible. This includes rubber, liner, steel, and spillage oil in our productions. In our offices and cafeteria, paper, food, plastics, and electronic equipment are recycled. Through our partnership with Refurb, we ensure that our electronic waste is being disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner where they refurbish the equipment and sell it anew.

supplier strategy

With most of our emissions deriving from our raw material consumption, we are frequently touching base with our suppliers to develop more sustainable solutions.

To become a Meneta supplier in the first place, we have a sustainable purchasing strategy where suppliers must accommodate the high standards defined in our Code of Conduct and Supplier Quality Agreement.

fossil-free steel

Meneta is among the first companies in the world to enter a sustainable partnership with our steel supplier to deliver fossil-free steel for Meneta-products already from 2026. With a special production technology, the process of producing steel coils will emit water, instead of CO2e.

When fully implemented in all our productions, it will mean a drastic CO2e reduction of thousands of tonnes each year. For more information on this groundbreaking news, please read the press release here.

We believe that sustainability is good for business and that business is good for sustainability.

economic sustainability

By reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and promoting sustainable practices throughout our supply chain, we are able to create more value for our customers and shareholders. We also believe that our commitment to sustainability helps to build trust and strengthen relationships with our stakeholders.

To be able to support our Planet- and People efforts in the future, we need to be a successful company that cares for our economic sustainability by working cost-effectively with purchasing, and optimizing our production continuously.

networks and partnerships

We believe that partnership is the new leadership. As such, we are actively working to gain new partners through various networks that can help us toward our net-zero vision.

To be able to keep developing and drive change, we are participating in multiple networks and partnerships. We are a part of:
